Misbehavin' LIVE JAZZ CABARET |

Misbehavin' Helen Porter – vocalist
Misbehavin’ is the popular Dorset based jazz cabaret quartet. Drawing from the ballads of Kurt Weill through to well loved jazz standards and original songs, Misbehavin’ bring a heady mixture of the known and unknown spiced with a hint of cabaret. Helen Porter enthrals the audience with her dramatic and seductive voice, complemented with exuberant solos from Karen Wimhurst on clarinet and bass clarinet. They are accompanied by the beautiful tones of Robin Walter on rhythm guitar, with double bass mastery from Ralf Dorrell thrown in. The wide ranging experience brought together in this unique band combines musical virtuosity with sassy entertainment. "Helen’s athletic voice spanned a huge range, reaching an unbelievable slide to a note that could shatter glass in Kurt Weill’s "I’m a Stranger Here Myself". Karen’s amazing ability on clarinet and bass clarinet provided a heady mix of soulful and evocative tunes. All the time, the back row boys kept up an expressive, responsible and steady accompaniment. I would endure the hard church pews over and over again to hear this superb group." (Salisbury Journal) We can tailor our repertoire to suit any event or function. Misbehavin’ have performed successfully at Arts Centres, Festivals, Private Parties, Weddings, Summer Garden Parties, Jazz clubs and Corporate events.
